About Madeline Gambino and Elenot

To my chagrin, Elenot did not come to me in any spectacular way and so the story of how I began to write is not at all very interesting; rather, like so many other young people, I said to myself one day, “I’m going to write a book.” At the time, I expected at most twenty pages before I grew bored. But five pages turned into twenty, and then twenty into fifty, and now, six years later, I have twelve books based in or around the magical kingdom of Elenot.

The Silvercatcher and the rest of my related books in the Elenot series are in the Young Adult Fantasy genre. Complete with magic, romance, and action, this series is for serious readers looking for a little adventure in a well-written, well-developed plot with interesting and unique characters. Fantasy is at its heart a genre about the limits of mankind’s imagination and abilities, and through characters like Keeri Dretterash, Emaline Henell, and Nyla Godard, the Elenot series explores just how far these limits reach.

In the Eldingvald Trilogy, of which I am working on the third book, the coming of age story of Pontus Savarik explores a young man’s obligations to his kingdom, religion, friends, and family even as he struggles to make a life of his own.

For excerpts of my writing, please check out the Excerpts page, where I have posted the first few chapters of the Silvercatcher, Nyla Godard, and Savarik as well as other samples of my writing. Please let me know what you think!

I am also currently seeking representation by an agent and am in the midst of a major reworking of my other eight books.

HEY YOU! I found myself thinking about you right now, because an author who I emailed back in November just replied :] :] SO I thought of you…and how much I hope you’ll reply to your fans emails when you’re published (especially mine) And then I thought of Sava and his buddies…and the new people he just met (where I read up to) AND just got really, really excited again for this boooooooook! So that’s all, I hope you’ll get some writing in this weekend! I know Sava would appreciate that :] I wanted to remind you how excited I am, in case you forgot :]
